I’m a writer, entrepreneur, and I’ve got a voice like an angel-please don’t be intimidated by me.Tumblr (3.0; @kindafabulous)http://kindafabulous.tumblr.com/<a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2011/11/27/diablo-cody-on-why-we-re-all-narcissists.html">Diablo Cody on Why We're All Narcissists</a>: <p>When I crowned myself <i>“President of the Narcissistic Whore’s Club” </i>sometime ago, this idea of <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2011/11/27/diablo-cody-on-why-we-re-all-narcissists.html" target="_blank">“we’re all narcissists”</a>-is almost the <i>exact</i> idea I had in mind. </p> <p>The modern concept of casual narcissism-explored by Diablo Cody on this brief article on her film, <i>Young Adult</i>, is what I always think of when I refer to myself as a “narcissist.” Moreover, I also think of our modern cultural tendency to <i>overshare</i> via social media, documenting everything about our lives for others to see as mini-documentary; so we can indulge and enjoy ourselves (and others)-as cumulative examples of this casual narcissism. We, of the internet blogging/social media-savvy sphere, are all essentially (virtual) narcissists. </p> <p>By healthily acknowledging this narcissism and treating the meaning of this as ultimately <i>insignifican</i>t, where productivity and healthy creativity are always the main goal-I feel that this stereotypically, freshman psych-101 term can be converted from pejorative to positive. And then ends justify the means.
