I realize that some of you may find me to be like, Baked Brie with Caramelized Onions, because I relish in the cheese; but I can’t help myself! For example, the other day-I’m at the gym, twerking on the elliptical; and I just happened to catch one of those E! True Hollywood Stories; and it happened to be about Miss Giuliana Rancic. Now-I must preface this all by saying that I have written an unkind thing or two about Giuliana Rancic (I called her Giuliana RANCID) because I used to find her kind of dull and terribly uninteresting (and clearly I’m kind of a mouthy bitch who misjudges occasionally). However, after watching her E! True Hollywood Story-I grew to like her and I also shed an authentic tear for Giuliana Rancic-because the girl has BEEN THROUGH IT. And my heart expands for people who struggle. In fact, people who don’t struggle-I find kind of boring and basic, but Giuliana has struggled and persevered. If you don’t know: it all started when Giuliana was trying to get pregnant (after having worked very hard to “make it” in le biz), and then it transitioned into her finding out she had breast cancer. After having defeated cancer, today-Giuliana announced that she and her husband are expecting a baby via surrogate, and I am genuinely really happy for them. I realize that it may sound crazy because I don’t know her or have any solid investment in her as a human being; but she seems like good people-and it’s always nice to see good people overcome adversity and attain the things they want in life. Plus, she calls her surrogate her “baby’s mama” and I really like that.

  1. kirability said: I agree. She used to bug the shit out of me but after watching her show on Style & her E True Hollywood Story, I’ve really grown to like her. I know how badly they wanted a baby and I’m actually happy for them. And I’m never happy for anyone.
