Weather Chill Wave
When I woke up this morning and saw the slightly dreary, slightly gloomy weather, I felt happy. Even my hands felt excited about the prospects of being able to dust the dirt off my shoulders in a thin-knit, All Saints sweater.
Finally, after an endless, relentless summer-my Charlotte/Emily Bronte weather fantasies were seemingly coming true, and it seemed like California was finally ready to roll on a chill wave and cool down. But these wuthering weather heights didn’t wither the way I had hoped.
As I was driving on the 110, I saw the sun manifest its big, enormous, lion-like orange face on the horizon and the weather was all, “Oh look at me! I’m California, and I’m so sunny and perfect,” and I felt disappointed because I’ve been super ready for a big chill since summer started.
I guess I’ll just wait for another, more permanent weather chill wave.
